I have other things to do today, so of course, I'd rather do this. I'm in the middle of designing a new garden for a new client and wondering if she'll like it, if it will grow, how it will look in 20 years. But none of that actually helps me do the work. The pictures in my mind must come out of the pencil in my hand and become circles and lines on a piece of paper, that someone else will translate into actual work and it will become the garden. The thought is just an imagination, the garden is real. Once it is in the ground it takes on a life of its own. Birds come, butterflies, all kinds of insects, reptiles. A complex home. But someone must take care of it to keep it healthy and growing.
